Ann Demeulemeester Feather Necklace

A signature piece from Ann Demeulemeester, the feather necklace, has been on my want list forever. I love the idea of elevating a common feather to a fine gem, which will evolve over time, showing evidence of its owner's life. Two bold screws anchor the fragile feather in a sterling silver sheath and can be opened for replacement, should it become too damaged (by a well lived life, I hope). The simple chain has a subtle oxidation and can be worn at three different lengths.
