You may not know his name, but you are familiar with his work. Kurkdjian, pronounced (Kirk-John) is one of the most talented and respected perfumers in the industry. He is the composer of "Le Male" by Jean Paul Gaultier, one of the top selling male fragrances since its debut in 1995. This perfumer has taken the unique risk of starting an eponymous house. The fragrances launched in September at his Paris Boutique and are available at Aedes de Venustas, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman. The gorgeous heavy glass bottles are topped with zinc caps, referencing the rooftops of Paris.
While they are all gorgeous and beautifully conceived, Lumière Noire Pour Femme and Lumière Noire Pour Homme are the standouts of the collection with their modern interpretation of the classic rose/patchouli accord.
The seven new scents below:
Aqua Universalis, is unisex and is “inspired by the scent of cleanliness” with bergamot, Sicilian lemon, lily of the valley, sweet mock orange and light and musky woods.
APOM (A Piece Of Me) pour Femme features orange blossom, cedar and ylang-ylang.
APOM pour Homme has notes of orange blossom, cedar and amber.
Lumière Noire pour Femme has notes of spiced rose (cumin and hot pepper), patchouli and narcissus.
Lumière Noire pour Homme features spiced rose (cumin and cinnamon), patchouli and mugwort herb.
There are also two unisex colognes: Cologne Pour le Matin to start your day with a bright burst of citrus and lavender and Cologne Pour le Soir for the evening with comforting notes of benzoin and incense.
