When the Hermès Jypsière was introduced on the Fall/Winter 2008 runway, I swore I did not like it. I tried several on as soon as they hit Hermès boutiques, but I was very much against messenger bags at the time. I almost always carry a hand held tote that doubles as a gym bag.

Well, what a difference a year can make. I have come to realize that there are times, like on weekends or when traveling, that a hands free shoulder bag or cross body messenger bag would be more welcome.

The Jypsière is available in 34cm and 37cm sizes, the latter created with men in mind. Jean-Paul Gaultier, the house women's wear director, wore his while taking his bow at the end of the Fall/Winter 2008 show.

So, I am dreaming of a Jypsière. The only question: what color?
