Inspired by...Robert Rodriguez

This ruffle one shoulder silk top by Robert Rodriguez originally retailed for $275, now on sale for $165 at Bergdorf Goodman.


The fabric isn't silk and the ruffle detailing is slightly different, but this one shoulder top from Forever 21 reminded me of the Robert Rodriguez original shown above. This inspired look for those on a budget retails for $19.80 and is only available in red. Click on the photo below to purchase.

If you want a similar look, try this version from Alloy. It is a different material, therefore slightly different from the Robert Rodriguez version...but for $24.50, it's a good alternative. Click the photo below to purchase (also comes in ivory and pink).


*Update - 11/18/09* - This Robbie & Nikki tank is a great alternative to the Robert Rodriguez original, although it's not that much cheaper than the real thing (especially since it's from a past season and if you're lucky you may find it somewhere on super sale) but I thought I'd post anyways. Robert Rodriguez Button Front Chiffon Dress - *Updated 11/5/09*

This Robert Rodriguez dress is from a previous season but originally retailed for $418 at Bleu Clothing.

While it doesn't come in green, this Mieko Mellucci dress from Akira is a great lookalike for a lot less cash. It is currently on sale for $47.60 (down from $119) and you can click here to purchase.

*Update - 11/5/09* - This dress from Lulu's is satin instead of chiffon but it reminded me so much of the Robert Rodriguez version (minus the belt) that I had to post. If you want to purchase this inspired by dress which retails for $51, you can click here to do so (also comes in navy).

Robert Rodriguez Sequin Skirt

This gold sequined skirt with black elastic waistband by Robert Rodriguez originally retailed for $385 and has since been marked down to $269.50 at Bloomingdales.


If you want a similar skirt for less cash, I found two other options for you. The first is by Aqua and although it is a slightly different shape and is only available in silver or black, I still feel as though it's a good look for less.
