Monday shop post - Miriam Bereson Australia

This week's shop post is more a reminder for me to get along to this newish store more than anything else. I was reading The Sunday Age 'M' magazine lift-out and was so pleased to come across a little article that points out that Miriam Bereson Australia now has a shopfront/showroom, 'Miriam Bereson and Friends' at 70 Glen Eira Road, Ripponlea.

I am a great fan of Ms Bereson's yearly planner.  I stick one up inside my pantry door at the start of each year and don't know how I lived without this planner before it came along.  So it's lovely to know that I can now go direct to the 'source' to get my planner.

Apparently the new shopfront opened in August and it stocks not only Miriam Bereson's predominantly paper products, but also the goods of a few other select independent designers.

Call me old-fashioned if you like, but I still like to do a bit of hands-on shopping.

My favourite being this lace tape - using this would make it pretty easy to wrap a stylish present... Monday morning shop post - Bookbinders Design

Bookbinders Design, a stationery business which was founded in Sweden in 2001, has a concept store right here in Melbourne - at 385 Bourke Street, Melbourne. It's currently the only store in Australia. Every time I am in the vicinity I cannot resist popping in to the store to check out the amazing range of cloth bound journals, diaries and photo albums available in an incredible array of colours. They even custom make and emboss journals, diaries etc. for clients. I would love one of their plain cloth bound journals...trouble is, I can't decide what colour I'd like it in because they're all so gorgeous!

Anyway, here's just a small taste of what's available.

Stationery love

I love stationery - I enjoy touching it, looking at it, using it, coveting it and even making it (I currently have a fixation with making envelopes!!!).

Last night I had dinner with some girlfriends, and my friend Brenda gave me a lovely box of stationery from Mudlark as a belated birthday present. When I got home late last night I absent-mindedly plonked the box down on my bedside table, right on top of my Amy Butler stationery box. And then when I was making my bed this morning, I looked a bit closer at these gorgeous stationery boxes and thought that they looked so nice sitting there together next to books I'm currently reading.

And isn't the quote on the inside of the Mudlark stationery box lovely: 'Nothing is worth more than this day' (Johann Van Goethe). How true is that! Such lovely stationery, and now I'm inspired to write a note to someone today.
