Going to Saint Barts

We're off to a much needed blissful week in St. Barts. I will try to keep in touch.

Hermès Kelly Double Tour Bracelet

I am finally 'fessing up to the shopping I did in St. Barths. It was our last day in town and I convinced Eric to stroll the Luxury shopping corridor. Of course, I popped into Hermès and discovered the latest version of the Hermès Kelly Double Tour bracelet in Ombre Lizard. I love the neutral, go-with-everything, exotic skin with Palladium hardware.

One of the nicest things about renting a villa in St. Barths is the ability to have a quiet evening at home. We had a blast at Maya's and another fantastic night at Esprit de Saline, but we wanted to have dinner in last night. The only problem is that we are not very good cooks. But, I managed to find some goodies and pulled together a very nice meal, thankfully requiring very little cooking.

Thursday Outfit: St. Barths

I wore this outfit to our sushi dinner on Sunday night at La Bête a Z'Ailes: a Cerulean Blue Alexander McQueen short sleeved cotton button down shirt, +J Olive cotton pants, Orange Hermès belt and Brown Hermès sandals.

Happy Birthday Eric

Yesterday was Eric's birthday and we kicked off our celebration at home with a bottle of Laurent-Perrier Champagne and shrimp cocktail. Then, we headed out to Maya's, a time-honored restaurant here on the water. The casual chic mood of St. Barths is captured perfectly in the charming space and fresh seafood. Eric had lobster salad and grilled dorade, while I had sea scallops over spinach salad followed by red snapper in green curry. Yum. Of course we had a bottle of rosé! We were seated next to Patrick Demarchelier's festive table and giggled as Lauren Hutton, Daria Werbowy and Erin Wasson joined them. We had a fantastic night. Happy Birthday Eric.

Villa St. Barths Veranda

Clouds rolled in and the camera rolled out. The feel of this house is greatly enhanced by the exterior. A mix of sheltered and open spaces, with a dining area, lounge chairs and comfortable nooks where we can read, makes it truly feel like home. The infinity pool and the view of the water make it picture perfect.

On our flight from NYC, I spotted supermodel Erin Wasson a few rows ahead. Then, we shared a turbo prop from St. Maarten with another super: Sasha Pivovarova. Something was definitely up. Presenting, the lovely Sasha Pivovarova, Erin Wasson and Daria Werbowy with two other models at Shell Beach, St. Barths yesterday being photographed by Patrick Demarchelier for H&M.

The Little Orange Box

When one rents a villa in St. Barths, it is almost always sight unseen, which can be intimidating and often disappointing. However, with the help of our friend Michael, our villa surpassed our highest hopes. With its totally sleek contemporary lines and neutral palette filled with bright pops of color, we couldn't have ask for a more perfect vacation home. I'll cover the expansive veranda and pool soon.

The two identically sized bedrooms have king beds, ensuite bathrooms and dressing areas with the same features, in complimentary color schemes. They both have sliding glass doors to the veranda with views of the sea. We chose to stay in Suite Chartreuse, which I named for obvious reasons. Who laid that Le Monde D'Hermès here? I knew we were in the right house when I discovered the little orange box peeking out from under the staircase.

We are off to St. Barths this morning for some much needed rest, relaxation and fun. I'm glad we are leaving, as it is 15º F here in Manhattan this morning. We are very sorry that our dear friends were not able to join us.
