Rag & Bone Fall 2010 Blade Chino

images: rag-bone.com

Why are pants so difficult? I find myself wearing jeans 90% of the time because I can't find pants that are slim enough. Leave it to Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, the designers behind Rag & Bone to make the perfect slim pant. I tried on the Blade Chino at the hip Christopher Street location and they are crafted of a sweat-pant soft cotton that feels like a non-stretch structured jersey. Very slim through the seat and thigh, but not too skinny at the ankle. The contrasting Black waist straps are a nod to military. Also produced in Olive.

Available here. $265 USD.

Rag & Bone Fall 2010 Stalking Jacket

Rag & Bone's award winning menswear continues to impress. This update on a hunting jacket produced in water-resistant Charcoal wool blend flannel has just enough military and a touch of hunting lodge, yet remains completely modern and wearable. Plus, the fit is superb, with a very high armhole and slim sleeves. The beautifully crafted coat features many details you normally see in higher priced duds. Your perfect casual Winter coat.

Available here. $680 USD.

Rag & Bone Wellington Trench on SALE

I bought this Wellington Trench from Rag & Bone late in the Fall Winter season, or was it early Spring? In any event, I got more compliments on it than almost any coat I've ever owned. Is it too early to consider a Fall coat? The color is a very unique light olive green flecked with blue and the fit is spot on. Made in the USA of Moon British cloth. True to size.

Available here. Originally $1095, now $767 USD. Free shipping, but no returns.

Monday Outfit: Black

Well, we're back in NYC and what else to wear but Black. I'm wearing a Rick Owens Black silk/rayon ribbed long sleeve knit, Gaultier Black ribbed wool cardigan, Rag and Bone Black wool topcoat, Uniqlo Black skinny jeans, Common Projects Black lace-up boots, Louis Vuitton Leopard Stephen Sprouse stole and an Hermès Black Fjord Plume.

I know it's late in the season and it is not on sale, but the Rag & Bone Wellington Trench is the military coat you've been searching for. The details are just right without too much drama. The neutral light Olive wool is flecked ever so slightly with Pale Blue and Green that contrast nicely with the Black buttons. The fit is superb, the finishing is excellent and the length is just right. A true classic.

Available here. $1095 USD.
