Michael Bastian for Gant

It is 19 degrees this morning in NYC and I'm really need some long johns. Has grunge secretly crept back in style or am I just looking for a way to butch up my lounge wear? I'm not sure I'd be willing to wear these out on the town, but for now I would love a pair to keep me warm and toasty at home.

The pair from the new Tommy line by Tommy Hilfiger are $59 USD and are expected in Tommy Hilfiger shops any day now. The Rugby long johns are available here $49.50 USD, available in Red, Grey and Black.

The vintage inspired pair by Michael Bastian for Gant are available here. $148 USD.

Jonathan Adler Shoe Butter Dish

A Holiday gift for shoe fetishists everywhere.

Available at Jonathan Adler here. $58 USD.

Teotihuacan

We visited friends in Mexico City over the Thanksgiving Weekend and had the opportunity to visit Teotihuacan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 25 miles Northeast of the city. We managed to climb the Pyramid of the Sun, stroll the Avenue of the Dead and see the Pyramid of the Moon, which we were too lazy to climb.

Teotihuacan is one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico and was built between 200 B.C. - 100 A.D. That's me on our descent from the Pyramid of the Sun. At nearly 250 feet tall, it is the second largest pyramid in the Western Hemisphere and third largest in the world, after the Great Pyramid of Cholula, Mexico and the Great Pyramid of Giza, Egypt.

Happy Thanksgiving

Eric and I have been considering this sheep by Hans-Peter Krafft for ages. They are hand made with real sheepskin covering a wood shaving filled jute base with wood legs and head with natural leather ears. We never really had the right spot, but we moved a few things here and there and now he is happily grazing in our home. Our homage to Marie Antoinette, shepherdess at Le Petit Trianon.

Available at Moss here. $1200 USD.

We were heavily influenced by Yves Saint Laurent's collection of "Mouton" (sheep) from husband and wife team François-Xavier and Claude Lalanne, below.

Vacation

We are on vacation this week in East Hampton. I hope everyone is enjoying their August as much as I am.

Maison Martin Margiela Ostrich Plume Pen

When your signature requires a little extra flourish, why not reach for the Maison Martin Margiela Ostrich Plume Pen? In the traditional white of the house, this classic Bic ball point pen is topped with a single Ostrich feather and engraved "Maison Martin Margiela".

Available at Aloha Rag. $46 USD.
