The Céline Medium Luggage Bag in Navy calfskin with Beige suede panel. Should I?

Céline Luggage Bag

Phoebe Philo has invented a new effortless chic at Céline, and I am very excited about the Luggage bag. Introduced in Spring 2010, this tote is classic, yet modern, simple, but still interesting and is the perfect work companion. Available in Mini, Medium and Oversized, I'm sure there is one that is just right for you.

Saturday Outfit: Black + Neutrals

On what felt like the first brisk day of Fall, I wore a Julius_7 Black cotton/nylon blazer, Alexander Wang T Moss cotton tee, Comme des Garçons Black polyester pants, Ann Demeulemeester Black derbies, Dior Homme Olive cotton scarf and a Céline Cabas in Tan and Black.

Céline Cabas Chic

In a super chic and very current combination of Camel and Black, this instant classic Céline Cabas is hard to resist. Crafted of velvety soft supple lambskin, this tote is reduced to its most minimal form. Just the right graphic punch for an all black outfit, yet neutral enough to go with everything.

Available at Bluefly in Electric Blue/Grey here. $796 USD.

Marc Jacobs In Talks To Succeed John Galliano at Dior

image: wwd.com

WWD reports that Marc Jacobs is in serious talks to take over the helm at Christian Dior, a position open since John Galliano was fired for his drunken anti-semetic rant earlier this year. Rumor has it that the Dior position was offered to Azzedine Alaïa, but he declined, refusing to close his own house to take the job. The vacuum at Louis Vuitton would potentially be filled by Phoebe Philo, leaving an opening at minimalist chic brand Céline. Other players include Alber Elbaz at Lanvin and Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy. It will be exciting to see where the cards will fall in this luxury shuffle at LVMH.

Céline Horizontal Bi-Cabas in Royal Blue

What can I say? I'm addicted to Céline! The Cabas is one of those perfectly designed bags without any needless ornamentation. Just a strong color (or two!) and there you have it. The perfect timeless tote. The horizontal version's handles are long enough to be comfortably thrown over the shoulder, giving it an advantage over the equally chic vertical version. This is part of the newly arriving Céline Fall 2011 collection at Barneys NY.

Céline Horizontal Cabas

(Quick shot at Barneys NY)

My new fall bag: the Celine Horizontal Cabas in Navy Blue suede with saddle leather handles. I adore the deep saturated blue shade and the subtle branding in gold. I prefer the proportions of this bag to the classic Celine Cabas, which I find too vertical. The suede, which I believe is calfskin, is a bit more structured than the classic lambskin. The handles are also a bit longer, with a wider stance, making it more shoulder friendly. Finished with one interior zipped pocket for convenience. The timeless shape and color are forever chic.

16" x 13" x 7.5". Available at Barneys NY.

Céline Fall 2011 Cabas

Feast your eyes on the Fall 2011 Céline Cabas collection. Loving the new bi-colors and textures--Orange python. But, is that rubber? What will be on your wish list?
