Corthay Arca Boucle in Aubergine

image: leffot.com

The signature shoe of Pierre Corthay, the Arca is even more stunning in the Boucle (buckle) style in Aubergine with Periwinkle piping. Only a handful of pairs of these sleek, sophisticated and sexy shoes were handmade especially for Leffot.

Junya Watanabe Varsity Jacket

The letterman or varsity jacket, the iconic American school staple is back and the best iteration is by Americana-obsessed Junya Watanabe. Junya loves authentic details, so he sourced the leather from Johnson's of San Francisco, the provider of leather for the US Military and several US police forces. The updated body is a bit longer, making the shape much more contemporary and slimming. Love the red satin lining.

Available at Bergdorf Goodman and at End Clothing. Approximately $990 USD.

Dries Van Noten Chunky Bi-Color Turtleneck

image: style.com

What can I say? I love a chunky turtleneck. In the Fall, it's the perfect layer for cozy warmth and this Dries Van Noten will be stunning paired with slim white jeans (yes, I wear white jeans after Labor Day). When the temperature drops, a chunky turtleneck is the only thing that keeps me warm under a wool coat, without sacrificing style. This soft cable knit sweater gets a crisp Dries Van Noten color block treatment in Beige and Navy, giving your shoulders some extra oomph.

Burberry Brit Cropped Pea Coat

images: barneys.com

One of my favorite coats of all time is my Prada Navy cropped pea coat from Pre-Fall 2009. Prada repeated the silhouette in Black for Fall 2010. Now that the shape has gone more mainstream, it is showing up in less lofty brands like Burberry Brit. A great piece that will update your Fall wardrobe instantly.

Available at Barneys. $795 USD.

Brooks Brothers Black Fleece Norfolk Jacket

The school boy goes luxe at Brooks Brothers Black Fleece by Thom Browne for Fall 2011. This 100% cashmere Norfolk jacket with gold tone buttons has a unique belted detail a pleated back and military inspired buttoned patch pockets.

Available at Brooksbrothers.com. $1500 USD.

Burberry Brit Over Dyed Cotton Trench

images: burberry.com

I have to admit that I am generally color averse, but these inspired Burberry Brit over dyed cotton trench coats are very tempting. What a clever way to update the classic trench with modern color. I want Tangerine or Juniper to brighten up my Fall.

Available at Burberry.com. $850 USD.

Gant Rugger Pre-Fall 2011 The All Cricket Look

images: gant.com

Anglomania is always strong at Gant and for Rugger Pre-Fall 2011, the focus is on cricket. The mood is set by an updated cricket sweater paired with corduroy shorts and an oxford cloth shirt. I bought the garment dyed, super lightweight, slim fit shorts that have the cozy feel of a time worn favorite. I'm going to cut them off a bit shorter, rather than rolling them up. Even when you are Luxury Obsessed, you need something for the weekends.

Available at Gant.com. $98 USD.

Céline Horizontal Bi-Cabas in Royal Blue

What can I say? I'm addicted to Céline! The Cabas is one of those perfectly designed bags without any needless ornamentation. Just a strong color (or two!) and there you have it. The perfect timeless tote. The horizontal version's handles are long enough to be comfortably thrown over the shoulder, giving it an advantage over the equally chic vertical version. This is part of the newly arriving Céline Fall 2011 collection at Barneys NY.

Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 Tweed Blouson

I love the casual attitude of a blouson, but often the tailoring is a bit blah. However, this sharply tailored tweed version from Yves Saint Laurent Fall 2011 is just right when a leather jacket or a blazer don't fit the bill.

Available at Barneys NY. $1495 USD.

Junya Watanabe Fall 2011 Fair Isle Blazer

image: style.com

Since we are talking Fair Isles, why not talk about the man who elevated the humble sweater to a stunning blazer for Fall 2011--Junya Watanabe. I love the spirited suede elbow patches and back yoke. Perfect for a chic spell in the country. It is exactly the sort of humorous statement piece I adore.

Available at End Clothing. Approximately $2000 USD. (20% off for non-EU clients)

Burberry Prorsum Fall 2011 Fair Isle

Preppy is back for Fall 2011 with Burberry Prorsum's modern update of the classic Fair Isle sweater. The famous Scottish pattern circles the yoke and shoulders for winter weather warmth.

Available at Barneys NY. $895 USD.

Prada Fall 2011 Lurex Polo

image: style.com

What I was doing in that Prada dressing room: I've been eagerly awaiting the Prada Fall 2011 Lurex pieces and I tried on virtually every style. I decided on the polo vs. the v-neck. There are solid turtlenecks and long sleeve polos as well. The v-neck made me feel like Spock from Star Trek, so I bought the Navy with the Purple collar and Bronze placket.

Céline Fall 2011 Cabas

Feast your eyes on the Fall 2011 Céline Cabas collection. Loving the new bi-colors and textures--Orange python. But, is that rubber? What will be on your wish list?

Emma Watson in Bottega Veneta at Harry Potter Premiere

Emma Watson--stunningly mature, sleek and sophisticated--wears Bottega Veneta Fall 2011 at the New York premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2”.

Giacomorelli Fall 2011

I have been enamored of this Tommy Ton image from Jak & Jil since forever. I am even considering a similar tattoo. Giacomorelli has continued this style in new interesting colorways for Fall 2011. Available at Luisa Via Roma.

Prada Fall 2011 Modernist Wedge

images: prada.com

Although not as craze-inducing as the Prada Spring 2011 brogue espadrille, these shoes hark back to the early days of Prada in the 1990s with their futuristic air, orthopedic aesthetic and chunky profile. Perhaps in the right color combo this could be a must.

3.1 Phillip Lim Sweat Pants

image: style.com

A lot of menswear designers have been flirting with the sweat pant mixed with tailored jackets. I for one, adore sweat pants . . . around the house. But, perhaps my eye is just adjusting or I am longing for something more comfortable than skinny jeans. So, I can't wait to try on these tweed-ish sweat pants from 3.1 Phillip Lim for Fall 2011.

Céline Fall 2011 Clutch

Phoebe Philos does it again at Céline. The totally discreet clutch/portfolio in camel calfskin. So chic.

Maison Martin Margiela Fall 2011 Cardigan

Dries Van Noten Fall 2011: Favorite Paris Show

images: style.com

In an ode to David Bowie in Camel, White, Navy and Black, there were so many looks from Dries Van Noten Fall 2011 that I fell in love with so instantly that I had a hard time editing. I love the restrained use of fur and the pop of white. The ultra structured blazers with peaked shoulders paired with flowing wider pants looked very new. But, on the other extreme the color blocked pencil trousers were also very appealing. The perfectly bold chunky turtleneck in Black and Camel is a must. Finally, the over the top regal embroidered jacket would make quite the entrance--or exit for that matter.
