Hermès Dip Dye Scarf
I am in love with this scarf. The deep, rich jewel tones are perfect for the Fall/Winter season. The pattern is abstract and mysterious due to the new Dip Dye process. A modern interpretation of the most iconic and best-selling Hermès scarf of all time, originally launched in 1957: Brides de Gala.

My Snood
Everywhere I look there are Snoods. Burberry Snoods. Hermès Snoods. H&M Snoods. Zara Snoods. What's a Snood? A Snood is a tubular protector worn around the neck or even pulled up over the head to create a hood. Popular with skiers and motorcyclists, they have gone mainstream this Fall/Winter. Often knitted of wool or cashmere, they are the must have accessory of the season.
Something about them all looked so familiar, but I couldn't quite put my finger on it. And then I realized, my clever mother had hand knitted me one in an Aran style about 5 years ago and I rarely wore it. Well, I'm finally going to put it to use--a lot, considering the forecast for one of our coldest Winters on record.

Dries Van Noten Spatter Scarf
What appears to be aggressive dye spatter, is actually hand painted by a couture atelier in Lake Como, Italy and contrasts beautifully with the delicate silk and cotton fabric of this Dries Van Noten Spring 2011 scarf. 60% cotton/40% silk.

Hermés Men's Vintage Silk Scarf
From time to time Hermés produces 70cm scarves specifically for men in more neutral and masculine patterns and colors. The graphic quality of this pattern combined with the striped border makes this look fantastic tied. Vintage silk twill is lighter, softer and folds tighter than the heavier silk twill used in the classic 90cm Hermés scarves.

Louis Vuitton Etole Tattoo
For Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011, Marc Jacobs naturally tapped NYC based tattoo artist Scott Campbell to join the ranks of Richard Prince and Takashi Murakami for the Luxury brand's latest collaboration. After all, Scott's work is permanently featured on the Marc Jacobs' body. In addition to temporarily adorning the Spring/Summer 2011 runway models with neck tattoos, Scott Campbell also contributed images of the Chinese Zodiac to the Louis Vuitton Etole Tattoo.

Faliero Friday
I purchased a gorgeous Modal and Cashmere scarf from Faliero Sarti at Atelier NY earlier this season here and I have worn it often and with great pleasure. I am pleased to let you know that the delicate nature of the scarf belies a super strong and durable weave which does not pill and does not easily pull. I love it so much that I went back to Atelier for an even lighter weight scarf in Modal and Silk in my favorite year round shade of Black.

Alexander McQueen Scarf
I already have two Alexander McQueen scarves: Bordeaux/Black and Navy/Bordeaux, but when I came across this version in Navy/Magenta I couldn't say no. I purchased this scarf shortly before McQueen's tragic suicide.
Falling For Faliero Sarti
I was visiting my favorite Shrine to Black: Atelier New York a couple of weeks ago, when none other than Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas sauntered in to peruse the racks--sans entourage. I knew the Black Eyed Peas were performing at Madison Square Garden, but what a rare treat to see him in person looking slicker than ever in his Rick Owens Black nylon jacket piling up fabulous clothes from Atelier's niche designers. But, enough about Will.i.am.
I had heard of Faliero Sarti and their delicately ethereal scarves, but feared that since Winter was on the wane, that I would have to wait until next year to procure one. Well, Atelier was onto me. This beautiful Silver Grey 90% Modal/10% Cashmere delight was dangling just within my grasp and when I touched it, I knew it had to be mine. I've been buying a lot of black lately and sticking to a more neutral palette. This feather light scarf will add a touch of fragile draped texture to my more severe silhouettes. I'm wearing it in my Monday Outfit post this week.

Tie Dye To Die For

While I am completely in love with these Bottega Veneta tie-dyed Spring/Summer 2010 runway scarves with their rich hippie vibe in delicate cashmere and silk, I can also appreciate a cheap alternative. We were visiting Eric's parents in Florida recently and the weather was just dreadful. So, the best alternative to the pool? The mall. We stumbled into Express where I spotted this colorful Women's scarf piled high in a lucite box on sale for $19.50 USD. All rayon and not as exquisite as the Bottega Veneta version, but nice enough for the few times I will wear it this Spring.
My Alexander McQueen
While mourning the tragic loss of Lee McQueen, I realized that I never got around to posting this scarf, which I purchased a few weeks ago. My sincerest sympathy to Lee McQueen's family and friends. May he rest in peace.
I wore my Alexander McQueen scarf in Burgundy/Black that I wrote about here more than I expected to this Fall/Winter, so I thought I should take a peek at the colorways for Spring/Summer 2010. Lightweight and easy to wear, I fell for this Navy/Bordeaux as I ease into a little more color in the warmer weather.

Hermès Cashmere Infini
Hermès has their own way of interpreting trends and this Fall/Winter they created the Infini as their answer to the snood. It is a loop of about 6 feet of pure knit cashmere. Worn doubled or tripled around the neck for a loose cowl or a snugly warm snood.
I admired them at Madison Avenue earlier in the season, but they sold out before I could decide on a color. I was lucky enough to go to Hermès Wall Street where Linda found this daring Deep Orange for me. Maybe I'm finally ready to start wearing color again.
Hermès Cashmere Losange GM: Cheval
The scarf I wore yesterday, "Cheval", is the latest Men's Cashmere Losange GM design for Fall/Winter '09 and the colorway I purchased is Marine/Glacier. It is the deepest Indigo with an ice blue horse design and hand stitched rolled edges. Introduced in the Hermès Men's collection in Fall/Winter '08, the Cashmere Losange is 65% cashmere and 35% silk and feels as wonderful as that combination would suggest.
